Company Bio

Sterling Car Care was formed on October 30th 1975, from a partnership break up of Fox-DeWitt Enterprise that dated back to Auto repair service centers in the 1960’s in Madison Heights and Warren.

Gary DeWitt purchased the Shell gasoline station that used to be on the southwest corner of 15 mile and Van Dyke, and began doing service work out of the small three bay garage.

At that time one of the mechanics that worked in that center, was Mike Parrott. He along with two other mechanics, and Gary as the service writer and operator made the best of the small quarters they had and service vehicles.

They grew their business on the principal of ”the best repair, value and personal customer service that money could buy
In 1990 after outgrowing the gas station, they purchased a Goodyear franchise just south of 15 mile on Van Dyke, where they expanded the service center to 8 service stall’s, and also kept the gas station as a fuel and light repair only.

At that time Mike Parrott joined Gary as a partner in the business, and they continued growing their service and fleet business to what it is today.

In 1997 they opened their second location in New Baltimore and took on Gary’s son Glen (who at that time was a mechanic) as a business partner to help run the new location.
And in 2003 Sterling finally outgrew its Sterling Heights location on Van Dyke, and moved to its current location on 16 Mile just east of Mound road.

We have grown our business on basic general principals, “Honest, Friendly, Caring service that exceeds the abilities of our competition”, and at a fair price, keeping our customers vehicles safe and dependable, for many years.

Both Gary and Mike are extremely active in the community, continually giving back to the people who have supported them throughout the years. Both are past presidents of the Sterling Heights Rotary Club, and Mike is also currently with the Shelby - Utica Kiwanis Club, as well as The Shelby Township Fraternal Order of Police, and sponsor many countless other local charity organizations.
